If you want to terminate your lease, please bear in mind the notice period stated in your rental agreement. Notice of termination must be given in writing. You can use our lease termination form for this purpose (in Dutch).
After the notice of termination has been sent, a confirmation letter will follow. An inspection will then take place, with notice of what still needs to be done.
The basic rule is that you have a one-month notice period and that you should leave the property before the first day of the month, unless stated otherwise in the rental agreement.
You will receive the deposit within fourteen days after termination of the rental agreement, unless there is damage or payment arrears. In that case, you will receive the deposit (after settlement of these costs) within 30 days after termination of the rental agreement.
If the tenant dies and no-one remains living in the property, a surviving relative can terminate the lease. We will then need a copy of the death certificate.
